	Downtown Asheville Memorial Day Weekend Art Festival Asheville, NC - Pack Square Park Show Dates: 5/24/2025 to 5/25/2025 www.artfestival.com Asheville’s historic Pack Square is the picturesque venue for the Downtown Asheville Festival of the Arts. Pack Square Park is a regional landmark that has been a focal point since the city’s creation. Asheville is known for a vibrant arts scene and historic architecture. Downtown Asheville attracts both locals and visitors every Memorial Day Weekend to kick off the summer. 	Art on the Greene - Memorial Day Banner Elk, NC - Banner Elk School Show Dates: 5/24/2025 to 5/25/2025 www.bannerelk.com/members/art-on-the-greene/ Memorial Day weekend, July Fourth weekend, Early August weekend, Labor Day weekend May 24-25, July 5-6, Aug. 2-3 & Aug. 30-31, 2025 Four times each summer, the green at the Historic Banner Elk School comes to life with Art on the Greene, featuring quality, hand-made arts and crafts from select local and regional artisans. The shows occur Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July weekend, an early August weekend and Labor Day weekend. Festivities typically include food vendors and other entertainment. Art on the Greene takes place in the heart of the walkabout village of Banner Elk, which allows patrons to make a day of it by visiting shops and boutiques in town and selecting from an impressive list of restaurants in the “culinary hot spot of the High Country.” Craft vendors represent a variety of media, such as metal, glass, ceramics, wood, watercolor, acrylics and oil. Attendees can find everything from hand-crafted furniture to a one-of-a-kind piece of art made in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Proceeds from the shows are used for restoration of the historic school, built in 1939 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project. The school is a showplace for the arts in downtown Banner Elk. It is home to the BE (Banner Elk) Artists Gallery, Ensemble Stage professional theater, a community book exchange and more. “Art on the Greene is geared toward artists who are involved in any medium in the Appalachian tradition of hand crafters,” says show director Nancy Owen. “We have metal artists, glass artists, potters, and high-quality jewelry from all types of makers. We have wood workers of all varieties from furniture to home decor wood items, as well as painters in a variety of mediums – watercolor, acrylic and oil.” Art on the Greene has no admission fee. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Special lodging packages are available that include two tickets to nearby Grandfather Mountain, one of the top attractions in the NC mountains. Company History Northcoast Promotions, Inc. began working with organizations in the Greater Cleveland area in 2004 to help organize their art shows, outdoor festivals and local craft shows. That first year, we helped organize six shows. In 2009, we had 20 individual events, with the Friday with the Artist series running every Friday May-October that year at Tower City. This brought our events to 44 shows that year. In 2010, when counting our weekly events individually, we have grown to 95 events for the year! We have other events still pending and continue to grow. Our events vary from one day shows to week long events. To participate in our shows as an exhibitor, fees range from $20.00 to $300.00, depending upon the show. For our event patrons, most of our events are free and open to the public. Sometimes events hosted by another organization will have admittance fees attached. Please inquire if you have any questions. Visitors to our shows should feel free to contact us for a listing of participants for a particular show ahead of time, or if you are looking for an exhibitor from one of our past shows, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to pass your contact information along to the exhibitor directly. For our exhibitors, we will be available to answer any questions you may have before an event. We will send you the agreement, confirmations, maps, flyers etc. On the day(s) of the event, our trained staff is on hand from set up through tear down to assist you. Some of our craft shows are handmade only, others are open to home party consultants. For our art shows, the concepts and execution must be original work, no kits. Exhibitors, please be sure to read the information about each show carefully to be sure you are applying to the show that fits your talents.
