Held in the Borough Park of New Cumberland located at Front and Reno Streets, the festival will have live musical entertainment from opening until closing. Trolleys will pick up and deliver festival guests on Bridge Street at the corners of Third Street, Seventh Street, Park Avenue and Haldeman Boulevard. Limited parking is available behind the West Shore Senior Citizens Center on Reno Street. If you must bring your dog to the Festival, please have it on a short leash to keep it safe from the crowd, and to keep Festival attendees safe. Be a responsible dog owner. Approximately 12,000 individuals attend the festival. For the past 36 years the profits earned at this one-day event have been used to the betterment of New Cumberland. Donations have been given to the Borough, the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Fire Police, the Boy Scouts, various sport teams, the Civil Air Patrol and New Cumberland Revitalization efforts. The New Cumberland Olde Towne Association is proud to provide the vehicle to accomplish many good deeds in New Cumberland.

September 24 & 25, 2016 Mainstreet DeLand Assoc 100 N Woodland Blvd Ste 4 Deland, FL 32720-4249 386-801-2534 It's been a couple of years since I've been to this show and since we were going to review some of the early season events in this issue I thought it would be a good idea to stop by and see what was happening. You can imagine my pleasure when I had the opportunity to see just how much the show has improved over the last few years! Sandy and Virginia have really done a fantastic job of turning this show into a really serious event. Let's face it... there aren't really too many shows to choose from during the last week of September in Florida so the competition isn't particularly fierce for exhibitors. But no one wants to waste their time at some show where you can barely tell and event is taking place. This year the Deland Craft Show met with all those requirements and more. My guess is that there were probably close to 170 exhibitors and although the listing in our guide says 7000 I'll bet there were at least double that many people shopping over the entire weekend. The event takes place right on main street in Deland and the booths are back to back right down the middle of the road. This is a great arrangement for the location because it keeps the flow of customers moving and at the same time it doesn't distract from all the quaint shops that are the trademark of this downtown area. Although the event is no where near as big as the Mount Dora Fall Craft Show, the quality and type of work I saw was very comparable. And on top of that the atmosphere was very similar too. After 19 years and trying a lot of different combinations of attractions, switching the location around in the downtown area and several other tries at getting that nice balance of customers and exhibitors I think the shows organizers have finally come upon a winning formula and the potential for the future is great! We saw all kinds of work at the show... but as the name implies... it is a craft show so as you can imagine that was primarily the bill of fare. But with the exception of a couple of booths with somewhat marginal type work everything looked like decent quality work and it was indeed made by the exhibitor. There were a few fine artists who were mainly locals and they were selling a bit... but primarily the sales we good quality crafts. I didn't speak to anyone who made a ton of money in sales although the overwhelming majority told me sales we decent and with a few exceptions about what they expected to do at the show. In fact, many of the people I spoke with told me that had done the show in the past at least a couple of times. Like the show in Tarpon Springs... it's an early season event so not many exhibitors go in to it expecting to have a $10,000 show. It is however profitable and according to just about everyone I spoke with well worth a coming back! The load in and load out are both very reasonable for the event, parking for both customers and exhibitors is great and is available the entire length of the show so everyone has easy access. Deland is becoming a better and better place to stage these type of events as the population in the surrounding areas becomes more affluent. With the greater Orlando area constantly expanding to the north of the city it's now within easy driving distance and with the downtown area in Deland improving all the time too it's making the city a very desirable place for both art and craft shows. This event is always one of the first Florida shows of the season... in November we'll once again see the fine art show... then in the spring we'll see the DeLand Outdoor Art & Crafts Festival... All three of these are well worth considering. I've seen a good cooperation between the festivals and as a result they are all doing better than ever. Keep and eye on this show... I think it's one to consider putting on your schedule!
	Old Fourth Ward Fall Arts Festival Atlanta, GA - Historic Fourth Ward Park Show Dates: 9/26/2026 to 9/27/2026 www.oldfourthwardparkartsfestival.com Held in which is considered to be the most up and coming neighborhood in Metro Atlanta, the Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival is a two-day celebration of community and tradition presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, for people of all ages, races, customs, and interests. The Festival is a major celebration of the arts while honoring the rich history of our community. At this festival, there is something for everyone: fine arts and crafts, a children's play area, local food and beverage concessions and live acoustic entertainment. All this within the environment of Atlanta's most lovely park and part of the celebration of the Beltline redevelopment. Formerly, this area flanked "City Hall East," which is now under redevelopment as Ponce City Market by Jamestown Properties. This area is targeted as one of the prime examples of urban redevelopment and innovation, benefiting the surrounding communities. Approximately 130 artists will participate in this annual event. 	Riverfest - 42nd Annual Canton, GA - Etowah River Park Show Dates: 9/26/2026 to 9/27/2026 www.serviceleague.net/fundraisers/riverfest/ The Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is the historic cornerstone of the Service League's fundraising efforts. Now in its 35th year, the festival has earned a notable reputation for its family-oriented approach and warm relationship with its vendors. Riverfest is a juried show, featuring original, creative, handmade work from artisans all over the region. Additionally, the event showcases incredible entertainment throughout the weekend - live music and dancing - as well as a fun-filled children's area where children of all ages can participate in a number of kid-friendly rides and activities. Visitors can also enjoy delicious treats from our variety of concessionaires. Many of our Riverfest exhibitors and guests at the fair have asked how the funds raised at Riverfest are spent. 	Duluth Fall Festival - 42nd Annual Duluth, GA - Downtown Festival Center Show Dates: 9/26/2026 to 9/27/2026 www.duluthfallfestival.org More than 250 artists and crafts persons participate as vendors at the Duluth Fall Festival. Vendors offer everything from paintings and photographs, wood crafts, pottery and glassware, furniture, floral arrangements and decorative accessories, baskets, adult and children's clothing, doll clothes and toys, jewelry, candles and soap, stitchery and more. All items must be handmade or hand-decorated; no commercial products are allowed. Several of the same Arts & Crafts vendors return to the Festival year after year; When possible, returning vendors are located in the same general area. Most vendors are local or from the southeast. However, with our growing reputation as one of the best festivals in the southeast, we are fortunate enough attract vendors from as far away as Texas and Ohio.

	Art Under the Oaks - 55th Annual St. Simons Island, GA - Postell Park Show Dates: 9/26/2026 to 9/27/2026 glynnvisualarts.org/festivals Focused on fine art and craft, this ocean-side show is highly anticipated among residents and visitors each year. The island is one of four barrier islands known as the Golden Isles on the Georgia coast, midway between Savannah, GA, and Jacksonville, FL. The jury brings in a well-balanced selection of 60 art professionals representing 2D and 3D media. The festival's location, Postell Park, was re-designed a few years ago and laid out specifically for events like this. The unique one-square-block setting is located under a canopy of live oak trees, with the St. Simons Island Lighthouse and Atlantic Ocean only a few hundred yards away. A children's hands-on art area and food vendors add to the ambiance, as do the Pier Village restaurants and shops, which are just down the block. Advertising is done through radio and newspapers, as well as tourism guides, billboards and signs throughout the community, Constant Contact, various websites, and social media. Surveys from previous festivals consistently praise our staff and volunteers for their hospitality. One artist recently told us: The organizers do everything right and I love this show. A local resident commented: I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the festival this past weekend. I went to the event "just to look", but the art was so impressive, I ended up buying several things.
	Art in the Barn - 51st Annual Barrington, IL - Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Show Dates: 9/26/2026 to 9/27/2026 www.artinthebarn-barrington.com The 50th annual Art in the Barn juried fine art festival will be held the weekend of September 27th and 28th on the sprawling grounds of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL, located 35 miles northwest of Chicago. This is an open-air event held in a collection of rustic barns and farm buildings as well as artist-provided tents. What began in 1974 as a modest art show has grown to be one of the most unique, high quality, and well-attended art festivals in the Chicago area with over 175 juried artists exhibiting their work. Art in the Barn has a rich history of drawing people and families together to enjoy the exhibition and sale of fine art as well as live music and entertainment, food from a variety of vendors, and children's art, all in a picturesque country setting.
