The 36th Annual Georgia Marble Festival has something for everyone!

With a hint of fall in the air and bursts of color sitting atop trees, you know it’s time for the 36th Annual Georgia Marble Festival. Held during October’s first full weekend, the city of Jasper and the Marble Valley of Pickens County celebrate the history of Georgia Marble on October 1 - 2.

A full weekend of activities begins with the Marble Festival 5K Run/Walk Road Race Saturday morning. The 5K starts at 8 a.m. followed by the 1 mile Run/Walk at 9 a.m. To register, visit jasperumc.org. Then, catch the festival parade down Main Street at 10 a.m. Participate in the guided tours of the marble industry and structures. Also, enjoy arts, crafts, demonstrations and children’s activities throughout the festival grounds. There will be a marble sculptor, Bill Cook, Jr., carving marble displaying the theme of the festival, “Our Marble – Our Heritage.” Enjoy lots of great food while appreciating a vast array of weekend-long entertainment, including some of the best in Georgia music.
